free still costs something

Mom asked if I wanted some plants from her garden. The yucca’s went where my shed was and several bulbs I’ll plant later.

Free goods that cost me time, fertilizer, water, trimming, protection from critters and more.

Thoughts came of Christ’s free gift of kingdom life here and eternally…FREE but it too comes with a cost of “time, fertilizer, water, trimming, protection from critters and more.”

It can be hard to explain the riches found in His gift of life and salvation. The cost seems nominal compared to the blessings.

“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matt 16:24-26
