number the days

sugar island 2009

Do you ever lose days?

They disappear. All you planned….incomplete. Tasks remain but the day is past. New things cry for attention and bring you on detours.

My normal 27 hour work week went to over 40. I need a Sabbath rest…..

Dream about that day of rest for yourself.

Where do you go?
What do you do?

Driving, dancing, digging in the sand?
Sleeping, singing, soaring over land?
Lobsters, lazing, licking frosting from your hand?

A friend travels regularly to China and has offered to share free miles and hotel points. I’m dreaming of a warm beach with no mission, phone, computer or alarm. God setting the pace and bring visions of peace as I listen to His natural music.

Instead…I’m kayaking in the islands between Michigan and Canada for two days. Not as warm and lazy as my dream but the sights, smells and sounds of His wonders should refill this reservoir that feels worn.

Click to see my fb photo album from the trip 2 yrs ago. Sweetness!

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Psalm 90:12

  1. You’re a wise woman to have learned to dream while still young. I got a rather late start, but am certainly enjoying it now.
In God’s great vast creation, dreams seem only fitting!
