ArtPrize is done but surprising connections this year. The painting is again in my kitchen (SOLD last week) so I will deliver soon but I’m using it to make a commissioned smaller copy for this email received today. I met a few hours after responding with the director/screenwriter and production designer and showed them other work.

Make me wonder what others have really been praying for me….thank you!
They saw several of my other pieces and are planning on using them for the leading female’s “works”. There are many other parts to the discussion that show God is at work here! A copy of the painting will travel to Africa for some filming there.
We will see how this unfolds…here is the start of the small version without the girl or flowers. Much easier to paint the second time!!
God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

Without the girl and the flowers, the painting is almost abstract (except that the landscape is definitely identifiable as a landscape). The shapes and colors lend themselves to pleasant interlocking abstractions. And, I notice the distance perspective which I did not notice in the “red girl” painting. Yet, I still see the “red girl” and I imagine she has happily skipped away over the hills–just as your work is likewise unfolding under God’s guidance.
