are we there yet

We are regularly trying to rush the minutes and days for a future time. Christmas season has begun. Many kids will be asking, “Are we there yet?” Some will be saying, “Are we done yet?”

Arrival at some place, time, or understanding doesn’t always bring the results we hoped. Sure, God tells us to be content but He also says He wants to give us the desires of our hearts.

Do we hang on to the anchor or the kite string?

My prayer for you is from Ephesians 3 –

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

You can receive that prayer by saying, “Thank you Lord that you want more for my life that I feel I will have. You love me. Help me to release the hold I have on my anchors and grab tight on that kite line that shows Your Glory!”

    “…to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus…” This is the essence, the spiritual anchor that keeps the kite from breaking loose and going berserk and eventually crashing.
