living well

While reading Susie’s post on Joseph’s life and the famine that reunites him with family I immediately though of my favorite card from the HaitianArtisans we work with. Even though the card is no longer sold – the message will go on forever.

We have options –
Which would you pick?

Holding on to bitterness which holds you back from joy.
Refusing to forgive so holes burn in your heart.

or

Letting God lead to opportunities that impact family and nations.
Offering grace for deep healing of the soul.

I don’t know if we ever stop having the negative thoughts.
BUT I do know I want to live in grace and goodness. I’m making efforts to pray and find thankfulness for the people situations and problems that bring negative to my life. Asking God for forgiveness for those thoughts and that any seeds planted – be gone.

1 John 3:18-20 My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. This is the only way we’ll know we’re living truly, living in God’s reality. It’s also the way to shut down debilitating self-criticism, even when there is something to it. For God is greater than our worried hearts and knows more about us than we do ourselves.
