what gift to give

With what shall I come before the Lord
and bow down before the exalted God?
Shall I come before him with burnt offerings,
with calves a year old?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams,
with ten thousand rivers of olive oil?
Shall I offer my firstborn for my transgression,
the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:6-8

We so often feel the need to DO something for God, to GIVE something to Him, or to SHOW our love through a THING. It is US – our being – our life that He wants to engage with the most.

What is the best part of a treasured friendship or relationship? It’s about the time spent together talking, laughing, being real.

Humble yourself to be real with Him today.

  1. You are so right and so real!
The gift He desires is the hardest gift to give.
Maybe because it’s hard to relinquish control?
Or maybe it’s just hard to really imagine how much He wants us?
