deep waters

The past week I have been doing a deep review of what I would call my God Journal of the past three years. Conversations with God, notes of the day, struggles, impacting verses, teachings and more. It holds many emotions.

Looking at the past is not something many feel comfortable with but I find it very helpful to see where I followed and listened well and if anything was left undone. Thankfully it is filled with encouraging words.

I thought often of the verse “Forgetting what is behind…” and wonder why Lord do you have me reviewing this?

I’m almost finished and ready to “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me…”

Philippians 3 Message version says it well –

And that’s about it, friends. Be glad in God! I don’t mind repeating what I have written in earlier letters, and I hope you don’t mind hearing it again. Better safe than sorry—so here goes.

Steer clear of the barking dogs, those religious busybodies, all bark and no bite. All they’re interested in is appearances—knife-happy circumcisers, I call them. The real believers are the ones the Spirit of God leads to work away at this ministry, filling the air with Christ’s praise as we do it. We couldn’t carry this off by our own efforts, and we know it….So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.

  1. Judi, yesterday we heard the message from 1 Kings 13 about an “old” prophet who lied. Good message for all of us and perplexing too. So true we must know the spirit.

    • Testing with Bible is important. I was teaching a class a few years ago and in prayer prep said, “God if any of these words are not ones you want them to know…remove them from their memory.” We can all speak something true incorrectly. I’m glad someone taught me how to test the Spirit I hear from….saves much embarrassment.

  2. Right where you should be – pressing onward on the Right Track
God’s Plan for your life is being revealed through your art and your thoughts
    God Bless you, my friend
