We took a half day off after seeing Paul’s wonderful lookout. Down the mountain on moto’s instead of the 2 hour hike from his house. I was told the return usually took 4 hours. I did not have that much oomph in me.
The rain hit the road and we stopped to wait under a rock overhang with several Haitians and were soon on our way again. Tropical rain is not always long lasting.
I kept having lyrics come to mind on the trip…they’ll be coming round the mountain when they come….they’ll be riding shiny moto’s as they come…
It was a lyrical day at Bassin Bleu (Blue Basin). I’ve heard about it and seen pictures from other teams but in person – breathtaking! There are multiple levels to the waterfalls, the blue pools and rock jumping spots.
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.
By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
