Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14
When you think of the gate is it decorated and desirable?
Is the narrow road well paved and with great scenery?
If we look at the experiences of the disciples, the answers are NO. The even easily seen with man’s eyes.
Like Jesus’ use of parables, it has to be uncovered. I think it’s why Jesus said it was so important to wait for the Counselor.
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13
Lord – help us to listen to Your Spirit, to follow the narrow road and enter the right gate.
