comfort and joy

mangerGrandpa’s favorite Christmas song was God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen – he sang it well. He was in a church choir…long before I knew him. A wonderful memory to see his reunion performance.

Christmas is so different with Gram and Gramp gone. Most of the family did not like to sing carols. Gram would frequently say, “You won’t get presents unless you do two more songs.” In later years she would try to pay people to sing…it felt like I was the only one ready – not usually excited – but ready. I’m chuckling because more laughing was done than singing. We were incorrigible. Sorry Gram!

Praise and singing aren’t always comfortable – but I feel to find fullness of joy – we need to let ourselves praise with all our heart, soul, mind and strength!

Our Savior showed earthly life isn’t easy, but kingdom living brings comfort and joy.

Tis’ the Season…Celebrate Him.
