recognizing the gifts

2012 birth childDo you see what I see?
We don’t all see gifts the same way.

I can make cookies but several friends no longer eat sugar and others have already made their favorites so sharing with others isn’t what it used to be.

When Jesus came as a GIFT FOR US, most did not recognize it. They were looking for a Messiah who would come through a royal lineage or like Herod, it upset his personal plans.

Even though the gift of Jesus birth was for all the world – that gift lays unwanted by many. Sometimes it takes listening to what people are looking for and in need of before we can show and share the many facets of what the Christ gift means for all.

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. Matthew 2:10-11

May your day be merry and bright!!

  1. Yes, most didn’t recognize the gift. That’s key, isn’t it? Oh, that we may but a reflection of that gift and share it each day! Merry Christmas, dear friend.
