poured out

How often do you feel poured out, washed up, drained or depleted?

A pretty easy thing with the way we schedule, play, visit, work and just live in overdrive.

I’ve heard the word REST over and over these past years in prayer and I know it’s not just about sleep. It’s so much more an internal peace. I thought I knew what it meant but I’m finding even MORE of it recently. Definitely giving thanks to God.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
Romans 5:1-5

If you’re feeling poured out – ask the Holy Spirit to fill you…not just fill you UP but to fill you to overflowing!

  1. Rest, I understand why some religions have their leaders spend time in isolation learning to pray and to meditate without the “burden” of family or job or basically life. I do believe, though, that we can find that path in everyday life. It is all a matter of priority. Thank you for reminding me this is why I take the time for reading and just to be alone. My you be blessed with the rest you are needing.
