everyday – NEW beginnings

revive vineyardTo many, the New Year is a day for resolutions, change, and hope. A time to reflect on what has been and dream of what is to come.

To others, it is existence, harshness, and struggle. Maybe you are like me and have been in both arenas. Trying to hang on to joy and possibilities. Thinking something has got to change.

Well – it always does!

The clock keeps ticking. A new day comes, a new year begins and the only constant I have found is God.

These past years have shown me that trusting in God is where peace is found.
His Word brings hope,
His promises bring confidence,
His whispers bring a courage I never had those many years without Him. A change I’m very grateful for.

Listen to His Words, seek to hear His voice, trust that with Him – all things are possible.

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete. 2 Corinthians 1:20-22

May your New Year be blessed with His abundance, grace, and boldness!
May He revive you with His Spirit of joy and possibilities!

When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appeal to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.

We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:13-20

  1. Thank you for this reminder that it isn’t only the 1st of a new year that changes can happen. When I look back on my life, many important moments, when God found me and changed me, have happened when they needed to according to His plan for my life. If God moments only happened at the beginning of the year, what good would all the other days and months be?

    God is good.

    1. You saw great NEW things that were not on the 1st! I’m excited for how God will work in your new position Kris. Peace and JOY to ALL you do sister!

  2. Happy New Year, Judi!! Yes, things are changing…God is doing new things! The only thing that doesn’t change is HIM. As we cling to and live in Jesus, we are kept in a safe, stable place as things change and swirl around us. Blessed be God who is with us and who watches over us! In and through the things that come, He works in us for good. What a precious, loving, merciful, faithful God we serve!!

    Love you, friend –

    Nat
