setting new roots

We had a nice tour of the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford Estate in Ft Myers. Hearing the history of their individual lives and how they were intertwined.

There were many great trees on the acreage. The aerial roots of the Banyan were pointed out on what is said to be the first Banyan planted in the continental US. Several figs were adding more to the story…

Looking
Seeking
for water, for light, for hope

Securing
Claiming
Absorbing
for growth, for strength, for life

We all have varying “root” systems. They do not always seem logical, direct or even sturdy but they make each of our lives unique and give us strength to withstand whatever winds come our way.

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jeremiah 17:7-8
