sheep in the desert

God's gate is not locked...

God’s gate is not locked…but only one way to enter…Jesus.

Do you count sheep to go to sleep?
Or maybe wonder how can sheep live in the desert?
Can an oasis provide for all the sheep?
Do sheep have a sense of a direction or need to rely on their shepherd?

Maybe that’s a bit too much to help the mind clear for dozing…

Basics for sheep – greens, water and a shepherd. If one strays – the shepherd goes after the one. He risks his life for his sheep.

We are like those sheep. We stray more than we know. Our shepherd keeps calling, looking, seeking to bring us back with the flock.

Are you hearing the shepherd call? Do you know His voice?

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
John 10:9-11

Judi, wonderful post, as always. One of my favorite books has always been: “A Shepherd Looks At The Twenty Third Psalm. It opened my eyes and my heart to revisit my walk with Jesus. I wrote about sheep today as well, but from another perspective. Jewish families shopping for a lamb for holy week. Here’s a link if you want to read about it.
