redeemed

Sometimes writing just seems to clear the fog. I am thankful for my journals! I just got a new one today and look forward to the fresh pages. There are so many ways we process, record, rewrite. Much of it is in our head and our hearts. Only sometimes is it on paper, in words, or with paint.

peace like a river

This painting was one that really was stretching me. An old canvas I was painting over…I picked some colors, did some work and the next day added another layer. I thought it was the worst thing and came back at it with the palette knife to scrape off the paint. As I did that – GREAT NEW THINGS started to emerge!! I was energized again and continued with the palette knife and mixing colors!

A masterpiece? No… but it felt like part of the Master. A place where He showed me that all things are redeemable. Thank Jesus for sharing Your heart!

Psalm 107:1-9

1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;    his love endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—
those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,
those he gathered from the lands,
from east and west, from north and south.

Some wandered in desert wastelands,
finding no way to a city where they could settle.
They were hungry and thirsty,
    and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way
to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.
