a little about me

The posts on this blog are about my journey listening to God, pondering life, discovering more of His Word and trying to do that in approx 150 words.

I no longer know how to describe my life, career or direction. Maybe MISSIONARY is enough. He brings me to other countries like Haiti, Guatemala and sometimes He brings the countries to my home – which is also my studio.

I paint, weave, and do a bit of creative and spiritual facilitating. I do some part-time things like accounting, and volunteering with business and community development locally and with Haitian Artisans for Peace Intl . My degree is in business management with ministry leadership but I never know where HE will lead me next! Maybe painting a mural or even a very white wall.

Writing and journaling help to process the changes, unknowns, and amazing things happening the past years as God leads in new directions. I’m regularly trying to get the mapping right, so reviewing helps to stay on the right course. It’s as if I graduated from the kiddie rides at Disney to the adult ones. HANG ON!! (Yes, some days you wish you could sit in the shade instead.)

The future….it’s in God’s hands. He keeps asking me, “Do you trust me?” I keep saying, “Yes! Lead Lord…you’ve got the best plans!” Scary and exciting all at once.

    God’s journey led me to finally understanding the reason why I have felt so alien all my life.
    I have Aspergers syndrome, my blog is a place where I can be me,
    The me God created me to be, before the ways of this world pushed me to conform.

  16. Hi Judi! Thanks for following my blog–although I can’t imagine what a committed missionary might find of worth in my poetry and wacky humor. Bless your heart for all you do! What struck me, reading this, was at the end where you say that God keeps asking you, “Do you trust Me?” Recently I had the affirming experience of realizing that when He asks me the same question–particularly if the road looks foggy–I say YES without hesitation. This is HUGE–that I’ve come far enough with Him to not waste time analyzing my feelings, or saying, “But Lord–how, when–and what about this…?” Have a blessed day–love, sis Caddo

  24. Thanks very much Judi. I agree with you that following the Lord is indeed an adventure (often a tripped-out—what’s this all about—where are we going—are You sure about this—Wow! Thank you, Lord— adventure). It is not possible to live by faith as He commands us without trusting Him.

    It always reminds me of what His own disciples thought during His ministry, when every day brought something new and different, most often completely unexpected, and always at least touching the edges of or entering right into the spiritual world and miracle realm when stuff kept manifesting in front of them that no one had ever seen or experienced before (He did it again! How did He do that?).

    I think in the same way we receive rewards or wages for work well done, which we can then use for something more enjoyable that fulfills our hearts (life must be enjoyable and have its share of fun), the miraculous things the Lord brings to pass is a measure of our discipleship and a blessed reward.

    For example, some may think the arts are a spiritual waste of time, but we were all made to create something or another as an expression of our hearts, and the more we work at it the better it gets and the more enjoyable it becomes because we grow closer to getting the expression right and it becomes much more pleasing. And I think we all would like to know that the Lord is pleased with us and our work.

    Thanks for making the decision to follow the Lord wherever that may lead and for the beautiful work you do. One is not possible without the other.

    1. Bless you RJ for your words…those here (you made me laugh – many questions and VERY WOW!) and those on your blog as you share the great power of His Word!

      I wanted to be more creative when young but stopped. God is the one who brought me back to it and really did release more of His Spirit through it. I have learned we do need to have both right and left of our brain engaging to truly have the “mind of Christ”. As with many paintings…we should be a work in process.

      Created in His image, bearing His likeness and He is so very AWESOME so we should press on toward that too!
