‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’
Jeremiah 33:3 MSG

A theme of discussion lately is “recognizing” the Voice, the Presence of God.

While working on a collage, I saw this picture in a magazine. I recognized the face from the book Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. As a newbie – this was life changing. Somewhere in our church study, I started to hear His voice.

Others didn’t hear Him – am I delusional?

Hundreds of journal pages later…I still wonder why some things He doesn’t answer.

Relationships should include listening, TWO ears – ONE mouth.
Let us have ears to hear You clearly and regularly Lord.

My sheep recognize my voice. I know them, and they follow me.

new every two

Whoever came up with that marketing plan anyway?? (Verizon…yes, we sell you things that are outdated before you buy them.) I’m still on a non-digital plan… but it makes me think of how NEW many things will be in Haiti since I haven’t been in two years. These little girls are not so little anymore!

Next week, I’ll seem even more behind with very limited internet, no regular phone or electric – I love to unplug!!

As I get even busier preparing, I asked God what needed to change and surprised to hear “stop writing.” I assume I start again when I return but the coming two weeks I’ll do some reposts. Facebook might get some action on Haitian Artisans or my personal page if I can connect but know I’ll be thinking of you all!

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.” John 14

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Trust and Obey – Lyrics: John Sammis, 1887. Composer: Daniel Towner, 1887

back to the garden

Yesterday the garden was calling….I was thinking – you could call someone else.

Even when the TO DO list seems overwhelming and this year its taming flower beds and cleaning where the fence and shed used to be – once I am out there…it’s bliss.

My body loves the work – even when it yells later. My mind often goes blank – or if negative thoughts, tearing out ivy or other destruction (I mean trimming) helps to process.

…and often verses or lyrics flow…

I hear the voice
It’s the voice of the One I love
He’s callin my name
I hear the voice
The voice of the One I love
He’s callin my name

He’s sayin…
Come up higher
I hear the angels sing
Come up higher, my beloved
Come up higher and leave this world behind
I find you to be beautiful……

I am running, running after You
You’ve become my souls delight
I am running, running after You
Here with You I find my life.

seeing is believing

#026
If it’s in front of your face then you believe it, right?

What if it’s only in your ears? Do you believe what you hear?

And then our thoughts…sometimes they’re louder still.

Well so and so said….
The news said….
The weatherman said….
haha

What about what God says?

God still speaks loudly through His Word, other people, creation and in quiet whispers. Do you ignore these messages or hang on to them? When negative comes do you pull them out like a sword to tell the negative BE GONE?

We all have different communication styles with Father, Son, Spirit – AND they change! That was difficult for me to process.

“Hey God – why aren’t you speaking like You used to?”

A message He gave me last year.

“The mind cannot always see but the Spirit knows. Think with the Spirit, not the mind.”

My favorite sword!
